Kruger National Park

Kruger National Park is one of the largest and most renowned game reserves in Africa, located in the northeast of South Africa. The park is home to the iconic Big Five in their natural habitat and boasts incredible biodiversity, spread over nearly 20,000 square kilometers.

With its diverse landscapes, rich flora and fauna, and numerous safari options, it is a paradise for nature lovers and adventurers. It is just a 45-minute drive from Villa White Lion.

Kruger National Park

All of the Big Five animals (lion, leopard, elephant, rhinoceros, and buffalo) can be found in Kruger National Park, which hosts more species of large mammals than any other African game reserve (with 147 species).

When visiting, it is hard to comprehend everything you see. Imagine herds of hundreds of antelopes gracefully moving across the savannah, or crocodiles lazily sunbathing in the afternoon sun while hippos bask underwater to stay cool. The diversity and abundance of animals are truly breathtaking.

But it’s not just the visual impressions that will amaze you. The sounds of the park are equally impressive. Imagine hearing hyenas laugh at night, a sound that cuts through the silence of the night. Or the mighty roar of male lions defending their territory. And if you’re really lucky, you might even hear the almost silent footsteps of a pack of wild dogs on the hunt.

Morning or afternoon
game drives

Wild animals are often active early in the morning and late in the afternoon. This is the reason why game drives always leave very early, around 5.00 AM (depending on the season). Usually a morning game drive takes 3-4 hours, including an extensive breakfast.

In the late afternoon, often around 4:00 PM, the afternoon game drive departs, which takes about 3 hours on average. During this drive, there is often a stop for a “sundowner drink” where you watch the sunset while enjoying a snack and a drink.

White Lion

The white lion is a rare and majestic sight in South Africa, primarily found in the Timbavati region and Kruger National Park. These unique animals are not albinos but have a genetic mutation that makes their fur white.

White lions are often seen as symbols of strength and mystique. Seeing a white lion in the wild is an unforgettable experience that brings you closer to the magic of the African wilderness.

The Global White Lion Protection Trust is a leading organization dedicated to the protection of the white lion. This organization works to preserve these rare animals through scientific programs, awareness campaigns, and the creation of protected habitats in their natural environment.
