Most Beautiful Route
During a drive along the Panorama Route, you experience the majestic beauty of the landscape at its best. Stop at the various viewpoints to admire the impressive vistas.
One of the most iconic stops is the Blyde River Canyon, with spectacular views from the Three Rondavels, three impressive rock formations.
God’s Window offers a panoramic view over the lowveld, and on clear days, you can even see the Kruger Park. The nearby Wonderview is a less crowded alternative with similar views. Bourke’s Luck Potholes are fascinating cylindrical holes in the rocks, formed by erosion, where the Blyde and Treur rivers meet.
Waterfalls are another highlight of the route. The Lisbon Falls, at a height of 94 meters, is the highest waterfall along the route. Berlin Falls and Mac Mac Falls are also popular stops, each with its own unique charm.
Pilgrim’s Rest, a historic gold mining village, offers a glimpse into the past with its well-preserved buildings and charming atmosphere.
The Graskop Gorge Lift provides a unique experience where you are taken down to the lower forests by a panoramic lift, where you can walk on elevated paths and suspension bridges.
This route is called the most beautiful route in South Africa for a reason.
